GPS Racing was opened in the fall of 1999 by George Hodkinson, an active and avid motocross racer in the state of Minnesota for many years. George brings his many years of on track experience as well as countless credentials to GPS Racing including degrees from the following:

- Hennepin Technical College in Motorcycle Mechanics
- The University of Minnesota in Industrial Technology, (B.S and MEd)and most recently
- Paul Thede’s Race Tech basic, hands on and advanced seminars in motorcycle suspension
- Fox shock seminar
- Factory Arctic Cat race set up seminar
